It started 2011 with the purchase of a table top popcorn machine. We started out as Sweets n' Things selling popcorn, candy and soda at events around east Idaho. We added nachos in July of that year for the 4th of July in Rigby. Later that year we also added holiday baked goods for the Christmas season.
2012 the menu expanded to include burgers and hot dogs along with chips. We attended limited events working around the schedule at our "real" jobs.
In 2014 we decided to make a part-time business out of the whole thing. Tara, my wife, started looking for more events that included the Welsh Festival in Malad, Rock the Falls in Idaho Falls, Hawk Fest in Idaho Falls, and the Summer Fest in St. Anthony. Shortly after the Summer Fest, we received a call from Mike McGroarty, owner of Idaho Dunes RV in St. Anthony. They had tried our food without us knowing at one of our smaller events in Rexburg and were reaching out to us to provide food for their new event, The Idaho Dunes RV UTV Invasion. This was the start of a great relationship between what was now High Five Foods and Idaho Dunes RV park.
Fast forward to 2016. We've now been working at our little business. After the Madison County Fair that year we changed our business name to Redd's Grill. Once our season was over, after the 2016 UTV Invasion over the Labor Day weekend, we decided to look for a perminant location for Redd's Grill.
We met with Duffy McFarland at Teton Lakes and after a few weeks of discussion, we started the process to open in the Club House at Teton Lakes Golf Course. We open with a soft opening on October 20, with the official ribbon cutting with the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce on November 4th, 2016. Our new adventure is a wide open book that now includes my son, Taylor Rail, who is currently in fligh school at Spartan College, and my daughter Cheyenne Rail. Together we will where the adverture of Redd's Grill takes us.
