The Journey of Redd’s Grill

The journey of Redd’s Grill started in 2011 with the purchase of a tabletop popcorn machine, which we still have. We were initially called Sweets ‘n’ Things, selling popcorn, candy, soda and nachos at a few events around the area, adding holiday baked goods for the Christmas season.

In 2012 we expanded the menu to include burgers, hotdogs and chips, and continued working events out of our converted landscape trailer. In 2014 we decided to participate in events from Malad to St. Anthony, and, after Summerfest, we received a call from the owner of Idaho Dunes RV asking us to participate in his new event, the UTV Invasion, as the sole food vendor. We did not know what we were getting into then.

After being at the Idaho Dunes RV campground for two years, we decided to open a brick and mortar version of our Redd’s Grill trailer, and in October of 2016 opened the first Redd’s Grill at the Teton Lakes Golf Course in Rexburg.

In late 2019 it was decided to expand and look for a catering kitchen, or a place to build one. Eventually, we found out that the kitchen at the Shilo Inn had recently become available, and we decided to expand the Redd’s Grill to a second location that included the catering kitchen.

On March 2, 2020 Redd’s Grill and the Snake River Event Center officially opened only to be shut down two weeks later by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fast forward to now: Redd’s Grill and the Snake River Event Center, along with the Flying Goose have been open for 5 years, and things are still growing. We look forward to another five years and beyond, with possible expansion in the near future. We appreciate your patronage and love being a part of the great community of Idaho Falls!
